Configuration → Rate limits controls how aggressively your agents act on external
systems — how many messages go out, how fast a browser session works a site.
This exists because the constraint on outbound work is rarely your model budget. It’s
the platform on the other end. Sending too fast is how accounts get flagged.
Setting a limit
Each limit is a ceiling, not a target — agents stay at or under it. Where OpenHive
knows a platform’s safe operating range, it shows a recommended maximum next to the
field. Where it doesn’t, the field reads No recommended maximum and the number is
your call.
Recommended maximums are guidance based on typical platform behavior, not a guarantee.
Platforms change their enforcement without notice, and limits vary by account age and
standing. Start conservative on a new account.
